Dovetailing nicely with the smartphone boom is the fact that Greater Boston is also experiencing a boom — in the number of companies developing apps for all those phones and tablets. As much as she loves the game of golf, Maxine Harney didn’t spend much time on courses growing up. In Bangkok, where she was raised, golf is more suited for the wealthy than a young girl looking to learn.
