BRA Considers Approval of Huntington Ave. YMCA Demolition

Plans to demolish and rebuild the rear of the Huntington Ave. YMCA that houses most of the exercise facilities seem to be moving forward despite strong community opposition. A team representing the Greater Boston YMCA on Huntington Avenue was before the Boston Redevelopment Authority Tuesday night, and described the organization’s plan to tear down the 100-year-old structure, which would be sold to Northeastern University and converted into dormitories for students. Snowboard Maker Leases Hopkinton Space

A Canada-based seller of snowboards has leased nearly 10,000 square feet of space in downtown Hopkinton for distribution of its products, according to Greater Boston Commercial Properties, which helped broker the lease. The company, Snowjam Snowboards LLC, will move to the Hopkinton site at 34 Hayden Rowe from a smaller space on Eliot Street in Ashland, according to a statement from Bret O'Brien of Greater Boston Commercial Properties, which represented the owner of the Hopkinton building.
