The reason I bring this up is that my social chatter for the past couple of weeks is filled with the tension of the college decision. In many ways, the choice of college is somewhat arbitrary, both on the part of the eighteen-year-old and on the part of the admissions departments. Yet, the experiences of college are life-changing. The Dedham Institution for Savings Foundation is contributing $5,000 to the YMCA of Greater Boston (West Roxbury YMCA).  These funds will be used towards providing lowered-cost childcare services for the Dedham “Before and After School” sites at the Avery, Riverdale, Oakdale and Greenlodge schools.   

The Bertolon Center for Grief Healing, a program of Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston, is offering a variety of workshops and support groups this spring and summer. Most groups are free of charge, and all groups are open to the public, regardless of hospice involvement. All groups meet at the Bertolon Center for Grief Healing’s offices at 78 Liberty St. in Danvers, unless otherwise noted. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.
