Wellesley Youth Hockey Pee Wee team wins Greater Boston League championship

The Wellesley Youth Hockey Pee Wee A2 team defeated the Brookline Warriors 6-1 to win the Greater Boston League championship on Sunday. The victory followed a 3-1 win over Somerville in the semifinals on Saturday.  The championship game pitted two evenly matched teams and Wellesley defense, led by Shahen Hagen, Will Jackowitz and Justin Allinson, kept Brookline at bay until the offense could get on track. Ned and Abby to be Honored as Distinguished Bostonians

Fidelity Investments' [profile] Johnson family will be inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Bostonians next month. The Johnsons will be honored at the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce's 103rd Annual Meeeting Dinner on April 24, the Boston Herald reports. New Yard House in Boston – Fairport

Beer lovers have a new destination in Boston. The Yard House, a chain of restaurants with huge draft lists, opened its latest location, near Fenway Park in Boston, last week. I had a chance to go to the grand opening on Friday night and had a great time. The draft list is huge, and the food is good. And the location, phenomenal. The Yard House always has a huge draft list, and the Boston location is no different – they have 180 beers on draft. Bite Into Boston: Restaurant Week 2012

Mar. 18 will kick off Boston’s biannual food festival: Restaurant Week 2012. Put on by the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau, Restaurant Week is a communal effort by the restaurants of Boston, over 200 of which participate and create fixed price menus at significant discounts to patrons. A two-course lunch is available for $15.12, a three-course lunch for $20.12, and a three-course dinners for $33.12 (12 cents are added as a reference to the year and many vendors remind patrons that these do not include beverages, tax, or tip). Middle school math team advances to state competition

On Feb. 4, Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School hosted the annual MathCounts competition. More than 200 middle school students from Greater Boston to Melrose to compete. Out of the 28 teams that participated, MVMMS’s team of 10 students came in ninth, placing Melrose in the top third. This year, MVMMS advanced to the MathCounts state competition, which was planned for March3 at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. Four of the math team members will represent MVMMS. New production set to open at DCHS

     The Dodge City High School drama department will present the comedy "If a Man Answers" at 7 p.m. March 22-24 in the high school auditorium. The comedy, based on the 1962 movie starring Sandra Dee and Bobby Darin, centers on Chantal, whose mother is a fun-loving Parisian and whose father is a straight-laced Bostonian.
