Kings Donates 100 Turkeys to the Dedham Food Pantry

On Wednesday afternoon, Kings in Dedham donated 100 turkeys, weighing 12 to 14 pounds each, to the Dedham Food Pantry as part of the Bowl-a-Turkey program. Between November 1 and 21, King’s would donate a turkey for every turkey that was bowled. A turkey is when a bowler rolls three strikes in a row. The annual event, now in its second year, was just in time for Thanksgiving and Director of Marketing Doug Warner said that it was a win-win situation for everyone. “It’s a fun event and our Continue reading >>>

Filene’s Basement final Black Friday

Filene’s Basement fans of all ages descended like a pack of door-busting brides on the chain’s Back Bay store yesterday to experience the bankrupt retailer’s final Black Friday. “There are too many greasy spoons around and not enough quality like Filene’s,” said retired Bostonian Rita Petroni, 74. “It was sad enough when the one in Downtown Crossing closed, and now we have to see this.” The 102-year-old company, which famously bought the stock of Chanel boutiques in 1940 when the Nazis approached Paris and sold it in its Boston locations, will close for good in early 2012 after Continue reading >>>

… WHERE NDAMUKONG SUH HOPES GOODELL GIVES HIM A HOLIDAY DISCOUNT

While many backyard Turkey Bowls pit brother against brother, this Thanksgiving marks the first time in NFL history that brothers will face off against one another as coaches. While most kids were wrestling with wishbones over turkey dinners, the Harbaugh brothers were busy cracking football's wishbone. That's right. Football is a family affair in the Harbaugh household as Jim and John's father, Jack, was a college coach with his own stops at Michigan, Stanford and Western Michigan. To gear up for the inaugural "Har-bowl," Page 2 has a tale of the tape: Personal Jim Harbaugh: 6-foot-3, 215 Continue reading >>>
