The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) announced recently that Paul Yorkis, broker/owner of Patriot Real Estate, Inc., in Medway was selected as the Massachusetts REALTOR® of the Year for 2011.
Yorkis was presented the award at MAR’s Professional Awards Reception, which was held in conjunction with the Association’s 2011 Conference and Tradeshow at the DCU Center in Worcester.
The state’s REALTOR® of the Year is selected annually from among the nominees of the 16 local associations of REALTORS® and more than 18,000 REALTORS® in Massachusetts. Judging for the award is based on service to the local community, business accomplishments, and service to the REALTOR® organization on the local, state and national levels.
“Paul Yorkis’ dedication to the Association, to his fellow REALTORS® and to those in need is remarkable and inspiring,” said 2011 MAR President Laurie Cadigan, broker-owner of Barrett Company in Concord. “Picking the recipient of this award each year is always difficult, but Paul is most deserving of this honor.”
Paul Yorkis is a director and chairman of the Professional Standards Committee of the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS® (GBAR). He is also a Certified Professional Standards Mediator for GBAR.
At the state level, Yorkis is a member of the board of directors and chairman of the MAR Charitable Foundation. He is also a member of the Government Affairs Committee and the Quality of Life Presidential Advisory Group. Yorkis is a regular attendee of the MAR Conference Tradeshow and REALTOR® Day on Beacon Hill.
At the national level, Yorkis has attended the last NAR meetings and is a Sterling “R” RPAC Contributor.
