Boston Weather Forecast: Dry air to greatly diminish snow totals

The National Weather Service has significantly decreased the amount of snow previously forecast for this particular storm. Dry air in place over the area will cause most of the moisture to dissipate before ever reaching the ground.

Look for just an inch or so in the Greater Boston area with perhaps 2-4 inches on the south coast. Winter weather warnings are goin up for the Cape. 2-4 is more likely from the Cape Cod Canal to Hyannis and Chatham and less than that from Eastham to Provincetown.

Stay prepared for more bitter cold and perhaps another storm at the end of the week.
