Boston Software Recruiter Phil Hurd Launches New Firm – Virtual

Phil Hurd, a veteran software recruiter specializing in talent acquisition for the Greater Boston high tech community, is pleased to announce the launch of his new recruiting company, Oculus Search Partners LLC.

Lexington, MA (PRWEB) December 03, 2014

Phil Hurd has been a well-respected software recruiter in Boston for over 25 years, and co-founded a leading software recruiting firm in 1991. He recently stepped down as President of Lynx, Inc., the firm he helped create, and began a new company, Oculus Search Partners LLC, which will focus on recruiting and placement of software engineers in the Boston area. This time, however, Hurd will be a solo practitioner, with no plans to add staff, at least for the foreseeable future.

“There’s a tremendous amount of entrepreneurial energy in the Boston software community, and I love being right in the middle of it as a software recruiter,” said Hurd. “As a one-man recruiting company, I can spend all my time personally working with hand-picked client companies and candidates, in a way that just wasn’t possible as an owner of a larger recruiting agency.”

Hurd started his career as a computer engineer upon graduation from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), but eventually launched his software recruiting career at Winter, Wyman Company, where he achieved Rookie of the Year honors and went on to become one of the firm’s top performers. In 1991, Hurd co-founded Lynx, Inc., a boutique software recruiting company serving the Boston area.

Now, with the launch of Oculus Search Partners, he’s enjoying returning to his roots as a software recruiter, without all the administrative duties. “I get energized by the whole process of discovering the right companies and people to bring together. Being a software recruiter, finding the great candidates and help connecting them with leaders at innovative companies is fun. Making a strong match that benefits everyone is a great feeling for me, and is just as thrilling to accomplish today as when I first started out.”
