My Instagram: Alexander Ingram

Alexander Ingram, cofounder of art-bedecked menswear blog A Boston Blazer, has appeared in this column before. The 26-year-old’s unwavering faith in the men’s style sense in this city hasn’t changed, but his reach through Instagram (@abostonblazer) and Boston’s own fashion landscape has. We caught up with the Londoner-turned-South-Bostonian for a quick update on the scene. Q. What have you been up to? Continue reading below A. I’ve been building a freelance photography gig on the side, mostly with a half dozen small to medium men’s fashion brands. There Continue reading >>>

Bill Burr Reflects On His Lovely Day At The French Open

Jake O'Donnell 11:42 am, June 9th, 2015 “Bill Burr” and “Parisian tennis tournament” go together like Mustard and human shit. Alas, everyone’s favorite angry Bostonian took a trip to Roland Garros over the weekend and caught the Wawrinka-Djokovic final with his girlfriend. “I don’t like the crowd that goes to tennis matches, I don’t like how they whistle when they’re upset,” he says around Continue reading >>>

Now, Jacky Robert will be partnering with Sam Sosnitsky, owner of Pierrot Bistrot Français, another French bistro in the Beacon Hill neighborhood, to combine forces and reopen the space as Ma Maison. Happy Birthday! Mark Wahlberg Turns 44 Today

Today is actor Mark Wahlberg’s birthday. Though the famous Bostonian has kept his resume mostly clear of comic book and science fiction films, he did star in 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction. Greater Bostonians: Sisters Jean & Louise Break Boston’s Poverty Cycle

It’s easy to forget that South Boston was not always upscale. Especially not the D street housing project when Jean Sullivan and Louise Kearns moved in during the 1970’s school-busing crisis.  Sisters Jean and Louise, nuns with the Sisters of Notre Dame, have dedicated their lives to living and working among the poor. The young nuns worked as teachers and saw first hand the impact of poverty, violence and addiction on children. “I felt uncomfortable over time sending back a child to a family that wasn’t able to support what we were doing in the classroom,” Sister Louise says. So Louise Continue reading >>>

A Bostonian’s guide to every famous landmark we see in the Fallout 4 trailer

As both a native Bostonian and a Fallout fan, I am beyond excited by the new Fallout 4 trailer, which confirms that the game is indeed set in my hometown of Boston. Below I’ve taken some screencaps of the trailer that clearly show the ruins of famous sites in Boston and compare them to what they look like in real life. WATCH THE TRAILER HERE: Fallout 4 revealed for PS4, Xbox One and PC Fenway Park: You can see the iconic Green Monster and stadium lights in the background of this area, which would be somewhere around where present-day Lansdowne Street is. Learning to Harness the Power of Local Marketing as a Global Enterprise

I am the stereotypical Bostonian. I drive like a Masshole—aggressively and banging U-eys when I please, most of the time, and largely where prohibited. I’m a fierce defender of my hometown teams, especially when their character is in question, and I stubbornly refuse to listen to anyone talk down to my boys (yes, we like to speak about our teams like proud parents). I’ve become snobbish toward any non-New Englanders—my city is the best. “Dirty Water,” “Sweet Caroline,” Dropkick Murphys, and “Boston Strong” bring me to my feet. I have lived in four other major cities both here Continue reading >>>

Nick Di Paolo Explains the ‘Comics Table’ at the Comedy Cellar

Nick Di Paolo came to New York City in the early Nineties along with fellow Bostonian Louis C.K. With his thick Boston accent and a penchant for vicious swipes at political correctness, he's referred to as a comic's comic because there is no façade, no act with Di Paolo. He's had three half-hour specials of his own on Comedy Central, as well as a critically acclaimed one-hour special, Raw Nerve, on Showtime. His latest album, Another Senseless Killing, is out now and can be heard on his website. He most recently portrayed one of the "Twelve Angry Men" in Amy Schumer's sketch that went viral.Di Continue reading >>>
