BOSTON — Whoever opens Boston's time capsule in 2114 will find a David Ortiz bobblehead doll and a medal from the 2013 Boston Marathon. The Bostonian Society says the figurine of the Red Sox slugger — and the medal from the city's iconic footrace in the year terrorists targeted it — are among 26 items contained in the new capsule. ‘Super Shiny’ Lion and Unicorn Statues Return to Old State House This Sunday

Bostonians may not immediately recognize the refurbished gold lion and silver unicorn statues when they return to the top of the Old State House on Sunday morning. Their restored coats will be just that sparklingly different. “They are super shiny,” Heather Leet, the Bostonian Society’s director of development, said. “It’s a huge change from what they looked like.” The unicorn, in particular, will be noticeably different with its new palladium cover.
