The National Weather Service reports that a cold front will continue passing farther south of New England today. Light snow over the south coast will end this morning. We are looking at mainly dry but much colder than normal weather into Thursday across Greater Boston with just intermittent chances for snow showers. Purim book for children creates a stir

Children dressed as superheroes, queens, and football players ate pastries and listened to the story of Purim at Boston Children’s Museum on Sunday. The early Purim event was organized by the PJ Library, a nine-year-old nonprofit that gives free books to Jewish families with young children, in collaboration with the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston and Combined Jewish Philanthropies. NYU Student Wins Poetry Book Contest

The Medulla Review Publishing, an independent small press located in the Greater Boston area announces the release of Moumita Basuroychowdhury's poetry book, "Live Nude." The author is a student at NYU and a resident of Edison, NJ. The publisher states that Basuroychowdhury, while previously unpublished, managed to win the contest over many established poets with her experimental verse, which challenges multi-cultural and psychological boundaries. Boston Weather Forecast: Dry air to greatly diminish snow totals

The National Weather Service has significantly decreased the amount of snow previously forecast for this particular storm. Dry air in place over the area will cause most of the moisture to dissipate before ever reaching the ground. Look for just an inch or so in the Greater Boston area with perhaps 2-4 inches on the south coast. Winter weather warnings are goin up for the Cape. 2-4 is more likely from the Cape Cod Canal to Hyannis and Chatham and less than that from Eastham to Provincetown.
